I only really did the sidequests and planetary arcs on my first Imp and Rep characters, and take a moment to do the apt ones (scanning those monuments on Voss on a Consular, say) plus heroics when convenient. I do do the intro planet ones as well, since those usually fit the classes there and are pretty short.
