Thanksgiving - and Frozen II!

ermingardenThanksgiving was lovely - my mother and stepfather were hosting his family's Thanksgiving celebration, and they put me in charge of desserts (port wine cake and pumpkin pies), cranberry sauce, and gravy. It was a lot of work, but everything turned out well, which was very gratifying!
I also saw Frozen II with my little sister yesterday, and it was PHENOMENAL! A genuinely good movie even for adults! Now I can't stop thinking about it...and in particular about a fic idea I have, a Star Wars fusion AU. (On top of all the other fic ideas I haven't had the time to write....) Here's what I'm thinking:
In this AU, Elsa and Anna are sisters born to the King and Queen of the planet Arendelle, in the pre-Clone Wars Republic. Elsa's Force sensitivity manifests at an early age in an incident that injures Anna - this happens a little earlier than in canon (?) - scaring their parents. Elsa is given to the Jedi Order to be trained, but Anna is told that her sister became ill and died.
Years later, Anna is now Queen of Arendelle after her parents' death. Following attempts on her life - possibly also terrorist attacks? - the government of Arendelle requests aid from the Jedi Order. The Order sends a newly knighted Jedi - Elsa. Neither recognizes the other at first, but they eventually work together to discover the truth about their shared past - and to confront the unknown enemy threatening Arendelle in the present.
That's what I am thinking as far as the background of the story. There are a couple of other plot points and scenes that I am excited about writing, but as they closely parallel scenes in Frozen II I won't mention them here so I don't spoil anyone. I'm excited about writing this fic; definitely didn't expect to be inspired by Frozen II, but that's Disney for you! It would be a nice return to my very first fandom, Star Wars, from which I have largely fallen away since the release of The Force Awakens.
That said, I am now very much in the thick of law school applications, and the end of the quarter is fast upon me, so I expect to be very busy for the next couple of weeks - this fic won't be coming soon!
