Yay for writing more than the year before, at least!

I don’t set myself goals like that, mainly because I’m still surprised that I’m writing fic at all. XD So I’m just “going with the flow” and see what I’ll be able to write. My goal is to finish the three main WIPs I’ve got currently, and then we’ll see.

So of course I find your goal for this year very good! ;D Just write, see what happens, see what sparks your interest or inspiration, and I’m sure you’ll have a good outcome at the end of the year!

the fic is entirely academic pastiche, an in-universe discussion of the text's manuscript transmission history. I was worried no one would like it, but it was very well received!

That’s so cool, that you tried something like that, being so worried about the reception, and then people really enjoyed it! I’ve read some fics that are entirely made up of articles, letters etc. and it’s such an interesting format!

The recipients of two of my exchange fics this year didn't comment.

Oh no. :( That’s so disappointing! Even if they didn’t like what you wrote, I’d at least expect some kind of acknowledgement or some thanks for the work you put it. I did see one or two people mention though that they at some point forgot to comment on gift fics even though they loved them. Just a case of reading it at a time where they didn’t really have time to comment on it because they felt that they wanted to leave a longer comment, and then something was going on RL and it slipped their mind. They felt bad about it and commented super late on it when they finally realized. Stuff like that happens of course, but it’s still a bummer for the writer who is left hanging.
