ermingarden: a human Jedi in a hooded robe (sw: jedi)
[personal profile] ermingarden
Dear "Yoda",

Thank you very much for writing for me!

As far as likes go, I’m a big fan of slice-of-life fic. I also like hurt-comfort, including quite significant hurt (torture etc.) as long as there’s at least a little comfort at the end. As genres/framing devices, I really like epistolary fic, outsider POV, and pastiche. I also love discussions of Jedi philosophy.

General DNWs: PWP/porn without plot, hardcore BDSM, non-canon kid!fic/pregnancy fic, modern AUs, omegaverse, or reader inserts.

For Star Wars-specific DNWs, please avoid gratuitous Jedi-bashing and non-canonical falls to the Dark Side. I'd also prefer that you steer clear of the new Disney canon - this is because the characters and relationships I'm requesting are deeply rooted in Legends canon, and also I still haven't seen/read a lot of the newer media.

I’m providing a few prompts for the characters and relationships I’m requesting, but please feel free to ignore these: They are 100% optional and are just there in case you feel the need for a starting point.

Cilghal
I love Cilghal, and fandom is generally (inexplicably!) less than excited about her, so I would honestly be profoundly grateful for whatever you choose to write about her (or however you want to draw her!).

One of the reasons Cilghal fascinates me so much is that she drops everything - including her political career! - to become a Jedi, and specifically to become a Jedi healer. Unlike some of the other students at the Praxeum (e.g., Corran Horn), she breaks completely with her old life without looking back. Is the call of the Force so strong? Did she always feel like there was something missing, and now everything clicks into place? What was her life like before? What is it like adjusting to the Praxeum, including going from living on Dac/Mon Calamari among other Mon Cals to being the only Mon Cal in a (human-dominated) mixed-species group?

Another thought: After healing Mon Mothma, does she keep in touch? What kind of relationship do they have with one another going forward?

In the Fate of the Jedi series, we see a lot of Cilghal (relatively speaking), and she is frankly a badass. (And extremely clever!) Jysella Horn at one point reflects that Cilghal is more of a "traditionalist" among the Jedi, and that she doesn't believe Jedi should have attachments. How does Cilghal think of her own philosophy at this point? Jysella seems to be equating "attachments" with "close personal relationships", but throughout Fate of the Jedi we do see that Cilghal and Luke are very good friends. (I'm also interested in that friendship.)

Kam Solusar
Like Cilghal, Kam is tragically underappreciated, and I will be delighted with just about anything.

Kam's backstory is very interesting and honestly pretty underexplored in canon. (It's also kind of horrifying, tbh.) How does he deal with becoming a Jedi again considering that he was captured and tortured by the Empire as a kid and then spent most of his life as a deadly Dark Jedi enforcer?

For Mara & Kam: I'd love to see Kam interact with Mara Jade, considering their similar childhoods. Do they get to know one another after Kam comes to the Praxeum? Did they meet as children when they were both under Palpatine's control?

For Luke & Kam and Luke/Kam: Did they encounter one another on Byss, when Luke was under the Emperor's control? (Feel free to go as dark as you want there.) I'd also love to see how they interact with each other when it's basically the two of them flying around on a little ship looking for other potential Jedi for a while. Do they have long, intimate talks to pass the time in hyperspace? Do they do...other things?

Kam, unlike Luke, was actually trained in the old Order (although for a very short time). Does Luke ask for his input when figuring out how training at the Praxeum is going to work?

Tionne Solusar
I love Tionne for so many reasons! I'm really interested in her perspective as a historian on the Jedi Order and the ways it has changed over its long history. I'm also intrigued by how she might conceptualize her own place within the Order, both among the other Jedi of her own time and the Jedi throughout history. Multiple sources state or imply that Tionne is less "powerful" in some ways than most other Jedi. What does that mean? How does she feel about that?

For Kam/Tionne: What drew them to each other in the first place? How did their relationship develop?

NB: I requested Luke/Kam and Kam/Tionne, and of course I'll be happy with either one. If you want to write (or illustrate) both, healthy polyamory (either two separate relationships or Luke/Kam/Tionne) is fabulous! Please, though, don't write Kam cheating on Tionne with Luke (or vice versa).

I am so excited to see what you'll create! <3
