My comments: This fic is so unbelievably funny. I've read it three times and I can barely keep myself from laughing out loud even when I know exactly what's coming. Should not be read in libraries.

My comments: Did someone order complicated relationships with family members? Loving someone who hurt you because they loved you? Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys fics that cause you to make muffled keening noises while trying to keep your eyes from watering.

I keep meaning to sit down and actually watch this someday, but I don't have Netflix and the one streaming site I was recc'ed doesn't seem to work for my browser. Where did you watch this?

That said, a part of me is relieved I haven't watched the show, because the last thing I need right now is another brain-eating obsession in my life... although it would be nice to be in a more populous fandom for a change instead of screaming into the void. Though in this case, I'm thinking it'll sorta be like Yuri!!! on Ice or Good Omens, where I enjoyed the experience, but don't feel compelled to drop everything and write 100K about it.

It's always truly wild to me what the Next Hot Fandom turns out to be... I don't think I would have predicted a live-action C-drama, but life is full of surprises.

Honestly, I've only watched a few episodes (I do have Netflix – well, technically I have my dad's Netflix, lol). The show is very good, I just have next-to-no patience for TV. Mostly I read a fan translation of the novel at Exiled Rebels Scanlations; there's an official English translation coming out in December, and I'm very excited for it. (Chinese => English translation is so hard, so I'm super impressed by the amateur translators in this fandom! That said, I'm looking forward to reading a professionally translated version.)

I'm enjoying it, and loving all the amazing fic, but it's not at the level of Star Wars or the Silm in my heart.

There's also a donghua – the last episode came out today, actually – and you can watch that on YouTube here!

Thanks! I had no idea there was a donghua, though I guess that doesn't surprise me. I knew it was based on a book, but most of the people I know who are into it watched the live-action version, so it wasn't on my radar. I'll check it out!
